The 7 Steps of Your Journey

From your first online message to online aftercare back home, here is exactly what to expect at each stage.

01

Online Consultation

Your journey begins long before you arrive in Korea. Send clear photos — front, side, and any angle that shows your concern — along with a short note about what you'd like to change and your medical history (past surgeries, medications, allergies). A coordinator who speaks your language usually replies within one business day, and your board-certified surgeon personally reviews your case. Ask anything: which procedures suit you, what is realistic, and what is not — with no obligation.

02

Personalized Plan & Quote

Once we understand your goals, your surgeon designs a plan made for your face — not an off-the-shelf package. We explain which methods we recommend and why, what each can and cannot achieve, and the realistic recovery for each. You'll receive a written price estimate and the recommended length of stay in Korea, so there are no surprises later. And if a procedure isn't necessary, we'll say so — we plan around the change you genuinely want, not extras.

03

Plan Your Trip

With your plan in hand, you can book with confidence. Check whether your country needs a visa or qualifies for K-ETA, and choose dates that leave enough time for surgery and recovery before you fly home. Sugar Plastic Surgery is a one-minute walk from Exit 7–8 of Sinnonhyeon Station (Line 9), in the heart of Gangnam — surrounded by hotels, pharmacies, restaurants, and convenience stores for every budget, so daily check-up visits are easy and you're never far from what you need.

04

In-Person Consultation & Pre-Op Tests

When you arrive at the clinic, you meet your surgeon face-to-face — with an interpreter — for a detailed consultation. Together you confirm the design in the mirror, review the plan agreed online, and fine-tune it based on how your tissues actually look in person. If needed, basic pre-operative tests may also be carried out on site, after which we confirm you're ready for surgery and anesthesia. This is the moment for any last questions; surgery only proceeds once you fully understand and agree.

05

Surgery Day

On the day of surgery, the same board-certified surgeon who consulted you performs your procedure — there's no hand-off to another doctor. Most procedures are performed under sedation anesthesia after your pre-op checks. For your safety, operating-room CCTV is in operation as required by Korean law. Surgery length depends on the procedure (from around 30 minutes for eyes to several hours for nose or facelift), and you'll rest in a recovery area afterward until you're stable enough to return to your accommodation.

06

Recovery & Follow-Up in Korea

Recovery is part of the treatment, so plan to stay in Korea for the days that follow. You'll return to the clinic for dressing changes, swelling care, and progress checks on the schedule your surgeon sets. Stitches are usually removed about 7 days after surgery (timing varies by procedure), and we perform a final check before you fly so we can confirm you're healing well. Swelling and bruising are normal in the early days and settle gradually — your team will tell you what to expect at each visit and how to care for the area at your hotel.

07

Fly Home & Online Aftercare

Your care doesn't end at the airport. After you return home, stay in touch with your coordinator and surgeon through WhatsApp, LINE, WeChat, or email — send recovery photos and ask questions whenever you need. We'll guide you on what's normal as the final swelling resolves over the following weeks and months, and advise when to seek local care if anything concerns you. For many people, the result continues to refine well after they're back to daily life.
