Fat grafting harvests your own fat and injects it into facial areas that need volume. Some grafted fat may be absorbed, and the amount that remains varies with the donor and injection sites and your individual condition. The injection volume and staged plan are therefore determined after examination.

For a safe treatment plan, please review the potential risks, the information we need before treatment, and the symptoms that require immediate medical attention.
Possible risks include swelling, bruising, bleeding, infection, asymmetry, fat resorption, lumps, calcification, fat necrosis, overcorrection, undercorrection, and irregularity at the donor site. With facial injection, vascular complications and vision loss may occur rarely.
Please tell us about inflammation at an injection site, coagulation disorders, previous filler or fat grafting, active infection, uncontrolled high blood pressure or diabetes, bleeding disorders, adverse reactions to anesthesia, possible pregnancy, smoking, and all medications and dietary supplements you take. Do not stop anticoagulants or other prescribed medication on your own; consult the clinician who prescribed them.
If you develop severe pain during or immediately after injection, vision changes, skin that turns white or blue, sudden slurred speech, paralysis, or a severe headache, call 119 or go to the emergency department immediately. Rapid swelling, a high fever, or pus must also be reported to the clinic immediately.

Some grafted fat is naturally absorbed. We plan the volume with individual differences in retention in mind. If less volume remains than planned after absorption, a touch-up graft can be performed after the settled result is assessed.
Fat is usually harvested from the inner thigh. If there is insufficient fat, it may be harvested from the abdomen around the navel. The donor site is selected after assessing fat volume and condition during consultation.

Initial swelling and later fat resorption make it difficult to judge the final volume immediately. At scheduled follow-up points, the settled volume is assessed with photographs and an examination. The timing of assessment varies between individuals.
The volume that remains can vary with the injection site and amount, the condition of the harvested tissue, and your individual tissue characteristics, so a fixed retention rate cannot be guaranteed.
