Male Rhinoplasty With a Different Approach From Female Rhinoplasty

Compared with women, men often have a broader nasal dorsum and more prominent bone around the eyebrows. The skin at the nasal tip is also thicker, and functional concerns such as a deviated or hump nose are more common. Male rhinoplasty therefore requires a different approach from female rhinoplasty. The board-certified plastic surgeon who conducts your consultation personally performs the surgery and follows your recovery.

Male Rhinoplasty

What Is Male Rhinoplasty?

Male rhinoplasty designs a masculine bridge and tip line to suit your facial shape. Rather than an excessively high or artificial nose, it aims for natural balance that harmonizes with your face.

Men generally have thicker skin than women and prefer different contours, so a design that reflects male nasal characteristics is important.

Who Needs It

You may wish to consider this procedure if you have these concerns

01If the nose is broad and flatWe assess the balance between the bridge and nostril width to plan a refined line.
02If the nose is deviated or has a humpWe also assess possible functional concerns and improve the nose to a straight line.
03If you want a more masculine noseA broad bridge and straight line complete a masculine look.
04If a low bridge makes your features look flatCreates a defined impression at a height suited to your facial shape.
05If the nose is deviated for congenital or acquired reasonsAfter assessing the degree and cause of deviation, we plan an appropriate correction.

Men generally have thicker skin than women and prefer different contours, so it is important to make an individualized plan after an accurate assessment.

The Difference

Differences Between Male and Female Rhinoplasty

Unlike female rhinoplasty, male rhinoplasty generally favors a broader bridge and dorsum with a straight line that creates a masculine image, rather than a thin, high bridge and pointed tip.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

A.

The goal is to create a masculine impression that suits your face with a straight bridge and moderate height. Rather than a thin, pointed bridge, the design emphasizes a broader nasal bridge and dorsum with a straight line, while considering your facial proportions and overall style.

A.

The aesthetic standards differ. Male noses generally aim for straighter angles and a less upturned tip. Men also tend to have a broader nasal dorsum and thicker tip skin than women, and they more often have functional concerns such as a deviated or hump nose, so a different approach is important.

A.

That is the goal. We aim for a balanced nose that harmonizes with your face, not one that looks operated on. Rather than an excessively high or artificial nose, we plan a natural line suited to your facial shape and discuss the direction thoroughly during your consultation.

A.

Height and shape are not determined by gender alone. We assess facial bone structure, skin thickness, tip support, breathing, and your desired image together.

A.

We assess the proportions of the bridge, tip, and nasolabial angle together with nasal obstruction, the condition of the septum, and any history of trauma or surgery to distinguish aesthetic goals from functional discomfort.

A.

Contact the clinic immediately if your nasal skin turns white or dark red, your pain worsens, or breathing becomes very difficult. If you have extreme difficulty breathing, go to the emergency room.
