Sugar Motto

A Beautiful Nose Is About Harmony, Not Height

Designing a Nose That Suits You in the Balance of Your Entire Face

At SUGAR Plastic Surgery, our goal is not a trendy nose but one that looks as though it has always belonged to your face. During your consultation, we use 3D-CT to assess the nasal bones, cartilage, and skin thickness, and the board-certified plastic surgeon you consult with personally performs your surgery and follow-up examinations. We value lasting, comfortable balance over conspicuous change. That attention to every detail from consultation through recovery defines our approach to rhinoplasty.

Rhinoplasty

What Is Rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty refines the balance of the entire nose—including the bridge, tip, and alae—to suit your facial proportions. Rather than simply raising the nose, the design considers both the profile from the forehead through the nose to the lips and the proportions seen from the front.

Even procedures with the same name require a different design for each patient based on skin thickness, cartilage condition, and alar width. At SUGAR Plastic Surgery, we use 3D-CT during your consultation to examine internal nasal structures that cannot be seen from the outside, then create the surgical plan. A board-certified plastic surgeon personally provides your consultation, surgery, and follow-up care.

Who Needs It

You may wish to consider this procedure if you have these concerns

01Low Nasal BridgeIf a low bridge makes the face look flat and lacking in definition, we balance the profile by refining the height of both the bridge and tip.
02Bulbous NoseIf the tip looks round and blunt, the tip cartilage is brought together and refined to create a more defined contour.
03Hump NoseIf the middle of the bridge protrudes, we refine the prominence to create a smooth line from the forehead to the tip.
04Deviated NoseIf the nose looks deviated, we identify the cause in structures such as the nasal bones and septum, then straighten the frontal contour.
05Upturned NoseIf the nose looks short or upturned, we adjust the direction and length of the tip to create natural proportions.
06Revision RhinoplastyIf you are dissatisfied with the result of a previous surgery, we accurately assess the existing surgical changes and remaining tissue before planning revision.

Because the surgical technique and choice of material differ according to your nasal concern, an accurate diagnosis and an individualized plan are important.

Design Point

Rhinoplasty Backed by Expertise and Experience

A board-certified plastic surgeon takes responsibility for your consultation, surgery, and postoperative care, assessing both the outward appearance and internal structure of your nose.

01Achieving the Optimal Height · Angle · Length · WidthA nose is not defined by a single measurement. We find the combination of bridge height and angle, nose length, and alar width that suits your facial proportions, designing a natural contour from both the front and side.
02A Detailed Nasal Contour That Reflects Your Preferences and IndividualityEven with the same face shape, the nose that suits you will differ depending on the look you want. Whether you prefer a defined contour or a natural impression, we discuss your preferences and individuality in detail and reflect them in the design.
03Three-Dimensional Analysis Based on 3D-CTWe use 3D-CT to examine the nasal bones, cartilage, and skin thickness that cannot be seen from the outside before planning surgery. Considering both the visible shape and the internal nasal structure is essential to achieving a satisfying result.

Face Harmony

Which Nasal Contour Suits Each Face Shape?

There is no single correct answer; the most suitable nasal contour depends on your face shape and overall proportions.

01Round Face ShapeEnhancing definition in both the bridge and tip creates a clearer central facial contour and a more refined overall impression.
02Slim, Long Face ShapeRather than raising the nose excessively, we consider balancing its length and angles to maintain soft, natural proportions.
03Angular Face ShapeWe may consider a gently curved bridge rather than a straight line to create a softer impression.
04If you are concerned about your profileRather than viewing the nose in isolation, we plan harmony across the entire profile from the forehead through the nose to the lips.

Directions by face shape are general guidelines. Your actual design is personalized after we analyze your proportions during consultation.

Materials

How Is the Material Selected?

01Silicone ImplantA widely used material for raising the bridge, shaped to suit each patient's bridge width and desired height.
02Ear Cartilage · Septal CartilageYour own ear and septal cartilage are used mainly at the tip to create a natural shape.
03Autologous Tissue (Non-Implant)If you are concerned about implants, you may consider non-implant rhinoplasty performed using only your own tissue.
04Autologous Rib CartilageAutologous rib cartilage may be considered for revision surgery or a contracted nose when greater support is required.

The most suitable material depends on the condition of your nose, and we will explain the options in detail during your consultation.

Sugar Know-How

SUGAR Plastic Surgery's Rhinoplasty Expertise

These are the principles SUGAR Plastic Surgery follows in rhinoplasty.

01We Consider the Bridge and Tip TogetherRaising only the bridge can make the tip appear relatively low. We refine the direction and height of the tip and the alar width to create natural balance from both the front and side.
02We Design the Supporting Framework TooWhen greater support is needed, such as in revision surgery or a contracted nose, we first consider rebuilding the tip framework with strong autologous tissue such as rib cartilage.
03Performed after preoperative testing under sedation anesthesiaAfter preoperative testing, surgery is performed while you are asleep under sedation anesthesia. Medication is used to manage pain and pressure during recovery.
04Care through recoveryAlong with swelling-reduction laser treatment, scar injections, vitamin injections, and dedicated 1:1 care, we provide wound care and follow-up checks according to a set postoperative schedule.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

A.

Surgery is performed under sedation anesthesia, so you sleep comfortably and do not feel pain during the procedure. Nasal congestion and pressure during the first week of recovery are a normal part of healing and can generally be managed with prescribed medication. Pain and recovery time vary between individuals, and we check your progress according to a set follow-up schedule.

A.

Because incisions are placed inside the nostrils or along the narrow columella, visible scarring is limited. The columellar incision also gradually fades, and dedicated care such as scar injections can support healing. The rate at which scars fade varies by skin type.

A.

Yes. We offer non-implant rhinoplasty using your own tissue, such as dermis or cartilage. It may suit patients who want to avoid an artificial implant. Suitability depends on the amount of tissue available and the height you want, so it is determined after assessing your nose during consultation.

A.

For about 4 weeks while the bone and cartilage settle, it is best to avoid resting the weight of glasses on the bridge. Because recovery varies between individuals, we will check your progress at follow-up visits and tell you when you can safely resume wearing glasses.

A.

Contact the clinic immediately if the nasal skin turns white or dark red, pain or swelling on one side worsens, or breathing becomes very uncomfortable. If breathing becomes very difficult, go to the emergency department.

A.

Along with your desired bridge and tip shape, we assess nasal obstruction, septal condition, and any history of trauma or surgery to distinguish the scope of aesthetic correction from functional evaluation.

A.

The previous surgical technique and materials, as well as the location and timing of filler injections, are needed to assess tissue condition, infection and blood-flow risks, and the extent of removal or reconstruction.
