Filler risks include swelling, bruising, infection, nodules, allergy, and vascular occlusion that can cause skin necrosis, vision loss, or stroke. Botox may cause injection-site pain or bruising, asymmetrical facial expression, or eyelid drooping and, rarely, generalized muscle weakness or difficulty swallowing or breathing.
Tell us about pregnancy or breastfeeding, infection at an injection site, bleeding disorders, severe allergies, neuromuscular disease, the products, areas, and dates of previous filler or Botox treatment, and all medications you take. A specialist will check each product's approved indications and contraindications. Do not stop anticoagulants on your own.
If severe pain is accompanied by vision changes, skin turning white, gray, or blue, sudden slurred speech, paralysis, or a severe headache, call 119 or go to the emergency department immediately. Difficulty swallowing, shortness of breath, or generalized muscle weakness also requires emergency care.
